Maura was in New Hampshire for New Years, 2004.

Consider this rumor officially confirmed.

The mother of Andrea Connolly, one of Maura's close friends from Whitman-Hanson, tells me detectives were very interested in the news that Maura spent New Years Eve at a house owned by Connolly's friend in Goshen, New Hampshire, a month before she disappeared. Nobody was living there the week Maura went missing, but they did call up to neighbors to have them check the house. But it was empty.

Goshen is about an hour and a half drive from Haverhill.

  1. Thanks, James, for this post and all the previous ones. I keep checking here for more updates from you, and I suspect others are doing so too. We now have more confirmed information than we've ever had. At least we know that the cryptic posts regarding Maura knowing a person with a house in NH are true. We hope you keep posting often.

  2. But by the time the cops called Mrs. Connolly could Maura have been staying there on the sly for a brief period and covered her tracks well-cleaning what she had messed inside, replacing anything she may have used- and then departed unseen? Considering the glacial pace detectives were said to have maintained in the initial moments of the investigation, how long are we talking about before whoever it was actually checked the house? And did the cops dust for prints and do whatever else they do to see if a particular person may have been at a given location?

    1. How could you say something like that? Good things come to those who don't lose hope and who never give up. All of this info could eventually be very helpful. If you don't approve then get the f outta here!

  6. Why would you wish for someone to shut it down? Seriously.

I'd really like to know what the resistance is all about.

  7. The previous poster who apparently wants this blog shut down must surely be having some serious issues to deal with.
Either way he/she is obviously dead scared of the truth finally coming out regarding Maura´s disappearance.
Just shows how much this new blog/MM forum is needed after all these years!

  8. I've never seen a case like this with a small, yet vocal, group wanting to shut down discussion! Particularly a unique site of interviews --- not just opinions and speculations! And, as long as THOSE opinions and speculations are not hurtful, why not allow them too? They might help! What is the secret? Why a blackout, whitewash, stonewalling?

  9. I agree, how hateful, but more importantly WHY? That's the really important question. If you are out there asking questions and getting answers and stirring things up, why is that a bad thing? Isn't the end goal of it all to either find Maura Murray or to find out what happened and who caused it to happen? Any means to that end I would think should be applauded. keep asking questions and keep making people uncomfortable I think you might scare some things out of the woodwork that have been hidden for way too long.

  10. If I had a missing relative I would be thrilled to death that someone was willing to investigate and find out the truth after 7 years. I wouldn't be offended or want to "shut them down". Let them interview and search and find out all they can. It may lead to something. Isn't that better than....nothing? Keep up the good work Mr. Renner

  11. The people who hate Renner and this site think that they and only they KNOW the truth. They are true believers. They know that Maura was killed by a serial killer and that is that. Those who do not see it their way are giving aid and comfort to this murderous soul. That she may have left because she was tired of her family and the boyfriend who was cheating are not facts that they can entertain or, if they do, it doesn't detract from their certainty that she was murdered.

Also for many it is fun to bully people in a manner which makes it nearly impossible for their identities to be learned; that is, how many of them fear that any of us are computer experts who can track them down? It is easy and fun and they get to feel like masked avengers protecting the truth from desecration.

  13. Hello. With reference to this post, it is an interesting Google Map observation that the trip from Amherst to Goshen to Woodsville, via the shortest route time wise (which is what Google Maps in general give you) is 3 hours and 19 minutes. Recall the evidence that her departure was most likely between 4 and 4:30 pm and her accident probably at least 3-10 minutes before the 7:27 police dispatch. Taking the middle of those start and accident time ranges (4:15 and 7:24 or a one hour and nine minute span), that is getting pretty close to lining up. Who knows if she had an interim destination? But if the police were really interested, as James' post says, in the NYE in Goshen, there likely was a reason. ~ John G.

  14. Is it possible that she met someone that might not have been known to her other friends on NYE, stayed in touch, and that's who she was going to see/meet?

  15. Mr Renner, I would bet that Andrea was one of those at the new years ever party. Have you been able to track down or speak with Andrea?

  16. Here's a thought; her boyfriends mother seems kind of odd to me. She said that Maura was on their cell phone plan, so they were able to see all of the calls she made when the bills came. But she also mentioned that Maura used phone cards and that they thought the 1-800 number that called may have been Maura calling from a phone card. Now why would she use phone cards if she had a cell phone? That makes no sense to me. Also they should look at her call history, and see if there are any new phone numbers that she started dialing after NYE. If so, those might be the people who need to be interviewed.

  17. Hello James, just repeating the question from March 9th of 2012. Have you ever been able to track down or speak with Andrea? I think it's quite important to know who was at the NYE party in Goshen and if/who she was with, especially at midnight. Thanks in advance. Habs

  18. It's not about her hiding in Goshen after the crash, it's about who she met there at the party. Thanks, Habs
