The reason the damage does not seem to match with the report is simply because what was reported was not accurate. As I reported in the summer, Maura's accident did not happen the way newspapers have reported. According to one of the first people to arrive on the scene, it was obvious that Maura's car had crashed through a snowbank on the left side of the road before spinning around and coming to rest on the other side. The snowbanks were high and could have caused the damage to her hood that we see in the photos
What about the potential for a crash that occurred earlier, at 7pm, as some witnesses have said they heard over the radio? The one where authorities were turned back? This has been questioned from the beginning by people who heard this over the radio scanner--while also understanding that Maura's car didn't hit the trees.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, the fact that the accident didn't match the report (the knowledge that Maura did not hit the trees) does not change the fact that more than one person heard a report of a one-person accident, that was later called back, because the victim had left in a private vehicle.
Again, the damage is consistent with the single accident. She hit the snow bank, not the trees.
ReplyDeleteI agree on this. Her vehicle had plastic parts, so they don't show damage the same way as an all metal car. I think her accident happened the way you stated it. The mystery is not the accident-- it is what happened after the accident.
ReplyDeleteHello...and thanks to Mr Renner for makintg this possible. I think about this case often...and I would like to know the following: Maura did not want anything to do with the police for reasons which have been stated previously and are probaby true. She was a runner so if she took off running to evade police questioning how long would it have taken her from the scene of the accident to an open street or cross road ? thank you very much,

Any updates?
ReplyDeletei think she was maybe drinking while driving and that is why she did not want anything to do with the police. she had just had another accident prior to this one where drinking was involved. the snow and road conditions, mixed with emotions and maybe alcohol could have easily caused this accident and why her car was found the way it was.
ReplyDeleteyou have really ran out of material here. ashame i thought you were getting somewhere for a minute
ReplyDeleteMr Renner,
ReplyDeleteI´m eagerly looking forward to your next up-date after nearly 3 weeks since the latest new post.
While realising that you are a busy man, it would be good to know whether we can expect this blog to be up-dated anytime soon.
Many thanks on beforehand!
so this is about all you have on the case? no more updates?
ReplyDeleteRealistically whose land or property could she have crossed running about half an hour away from the crash site in all directions?
ReplyDeleteI was happy to stumble upon this site. The Maura Murray case is local for me and I've always found it mystifying. It seems that there haven't been any updates in awhile. I hope that your research continues.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting question is whether she hit the snowbank in order to avoid a vehicle coming the other way? Having seen a video of the route, it seems a logical explanation for hitting the inside of a bend.

Sorry but your theory does not justify neither the undamaged passenger side nor the tyre marks on the police report either. Please try to get professional help about reconstructing the crash. Without a professional reconstruction you can not have a solid and unbiased evidence. if you'r gonin to publish this in some form you (and us) must be sure because this crash plays a major role.
ReplyDeleteJust Google "car pedestrian crash" images. Does some of them look disturbingly familiar?
