Fred Murray releases statement regarding Creep's videos.

This is coming from MyFox Boston 25. You can watch the segment they did on the Creep's videos by following the link.

According to MyFox Boston 25, the Murrays released this statement today:

“The family is deeply saddened to learn and view that a seemingly clinically disturbed individual would post misleading and cruel videos online… the family respectfully requests the public to ignore and disregard this hideous information and allow investigators to pursue leads of substance and credibility.
Everything about this case is just strange.

  1. The family's reaction is just bizarre. After 8 years any possibly lead should be welcomed. Unless they already know what happened to her....

    1. Maybe the family knows a little more than we do. . .just saying.

    2. I just hope that what the family "knows" is also known by LE.

  2. I have a really bad feeling that anything that is discovered via this blog is going to be ignored by the family, no matter how helpful. Either that, or this is some sort of reverse psychology thing, making the Creep seem meaningless to get him to give up more information.

  3. You have to understand something. My ideas might be as crazy as the Kansas City Shuffle, but her father and friends have been talking about this for 8 years. They have already heard all the theories they can handle. They want something that has some actual proof associated with it. Can you blame them? You have to remember her father and friends are going to deal with this in their own way.
As for what happened to Maura Murray, I had one more crazy question. Since the woman in the house first called at 7:29 after hearing a thump outside and the bus driver showed up very closely after that at 7:35, Maura had to be either sitting there in a daze, whatever. The bus driver said this. If there was one question I would have asked the bus driver about the accident when he first came upon the car coming around the bend, it would have been, "Were her lights on?" I imagine they were because police would have asked this question, but I could never find the answer.

    1. Okay, what is this KC shuffle thing you're going on about? I think you posted something about that before and I still don't know what you're talking about.

    2. hahahaha google it! its a dance.

    3. I'm not sure why you want to know whether her lights were on then, or not, but I do recall in the Conway article the bus driver was quoted as telling Maura to turn on her lights, so no other oncoming cars would hit her while sitting there.

Though this likely says nothing about whether they were on at the time of the accident.

  4. @Feb 9, 2012 04:20 PM poster-

I, as you, still question the SBD's actions. To me, nothing adds up about his actions right after the accident and the police did a shoddy job of questioning him, imo.

As far as "They want something that has some actual proof associated with it" goes - having a ticket from 2/11/2004 from Bretton Woods is about the closest thing to proof I've seen. It doesn't have Maura's name on it or any visual proof it has to do with her at all, and the date could be doctored. But it is worth LE looking into; they apparently have NO other leads. Plus, why would someone keep that is it ISN'T doctored?

  5. I am just guessing, but the statement released by the murray family tells me that this creep was already identified (in the past) and found out to be mentally ill. Therefore, these new videos he put out are quickly discredited by them. (If this creep is beagle, then he has a long history of trying to insert himself into this case and at naseum, he has brought up on topix boards that he has been looked at as a suspect (probably for doing stupid things like what he just did).

  6. I think people are giving Fred Murray a hard time. I can see why he issued that press release. If we're all rethinking the events of this baffling case, exactly eight years later, he's going to have much more intense feelings of confusion and loss. Given that the anonymity of the Internet provides a suitable home for all kinds of weird characters, many of whom publish nonsense, Fred's reaction is pretty logical. Personally I think there's more chance of this being an unconnected crazy guy than a person with useful information.

Having said that, I don't believe this case will be cracked on the basis of the existing publically-available evidence. Some of the publically-available information is likely false. Other parts will be accurate but unconnected to Maura's disappearance, or connected but illogical, because distressed people often behave in illogical ways. Only a proportion of the evidence will be truly consistent. The case needs additional items of firm, verifiable evidence to bind it together and reach a conclusion. At the moment, we can only hypothesise.

So the ski pass and basement video are nevertheless interesting. The blocks of the basement wall look similar to Maura's dorm room, although such walls may be common in the area. The ski pass alone doesn't prove a lot, but it looks real enough that I'm sure this guy will have the police banging on his door tomorrow. It will be investigated. I hope they crack the case in the end.

  7. The first thought that ran through my head was that they must have a suspect other than this individual to just brush it off so quickly. My second thought was that maybe this was a plan to relax the individual that made the video in order to bide more time to investigate him without him fleeing.

  8. They're implying they don't like the videos. They're also implying how sick a person is to do this, but they're also pointing out that they have investigators checking into this. So what about this statement is odd? Basically, they're saying exactly what everyone in this post has said about the videos. They don't know if it has any credibility, and neither do any of us. That's why investigators and the appropriate people are looking into this. It's a shame some POS has the audacity to even post this on her anniversary of her being missing. Shame on him, People like him need to rot in hell.

  9. My big question is why after all these years, FBI hasn't gotten involved. Is it because they don't have a substantial enough evidence to be considered foul play? Does the FBI know something the rest of us don't? Do they know if she's actually alive and well, and living elsewhere under a different alias, and that's why they don't get involved, but come up with excuses as to why they don't? I guess I don't understand. The FBI sure does get involved in many cases, I don't understand why not this case.

  10. Beagle is posting on Topix in some different places ... North Dakota, Maryland, Florida. I have been looking for all of his posts in the last 24 hours and making sure that everyone else posting knows what he did. Here is what I just wrote on one forum that be posted to, in which someone named Shack was ragging on Renner for creulty toward the Murrays.

    "Shack,

"Issues regarding how Renner approaches an investigation is one thing. But there is a contradiction in your reasoning. Renner has only said of Fred Murray that he is not being forthcoming about the days prior to Maura's disappearance, which is true, and which Fred himself indicated he is intentionally not talking about. As such, Renner has not said anything about Fred that Fred has not basically said about himself. The "characterization" you cite, thus, is not Renner's; it is characterization that arises from Fred's own behaviors and statements.

"Like I said, that is one thing. But if your concern is the Murray family and how they are being treated and the impact on them of behaviors surrounding this case (as your post clearly suggests), how on God's green earth do does Renner's restatement of Fred's statements and observable behaviors MATTER AT ALL compared to what that dbag Beagle did last night? What Beagle did is cruel and absoluately self-promoting and acid water in the veins mean toward the Murrays. Renner at least is contributing constructively to the discourse around finding Maura. Beagle is just pissing on the rosary."

Who knows besides that creep if that ticket was real.
If you look at the ticket, it's in pristine condition.
That creep must have been in a stairwell at parking garage as he's in front of a brick wall.
I'm still disturbed seeing those youtube videos and screenshots of that creep.

    1. I think the ticket could be real and undoctored but meaningless. Going to Bretton Woods on February 11, 2004 is not so remarkable a thing. He might have gone because he heard about the case and was driving around up there. Or he might randomly have been there. He might have worked there. He might have just found the ticket in a dumpster. He might have found a roll of unused promotion tickets in a dumpster. It is a common enough thing for people to go there, so it could just be that he has that ticket as a souvenir of his own obsession with the case, rather than his involvement. I think he is more vulture than predator, in that both savor the tragedy but only one caused it. In any case, I am hoping hard for the Maura the fitness instructor conclusion. It is so much better an end to this case than Maura met Beagle. Incidentally, I just have a feeling that Beagle is an attention-starved, Maura-obsessed freak. I have a feeling he was not involved. For if the police thought he was, even just a hunch - after this incident - they had a reason to lock him up for a little while and interrogate him: hindering an investigation. And I agree with others that the Murray's statement indicates that LE has showed them why Beagle is nothing more than a vulture. So I think the police have checked this guy out and cleared him of involvement, although I am sure they don't like him much. (If it is not clear and anyone wants more on how the video posting amounts to hindering an investigation, I can email you or post it here). ~ John Green

  12. Actually most families of missing persons DO pursue leads from creeps like this. They are so desperate to find the person, that they will in fact humor a lot of oddballs. I think the reason Renner finds it strange is because the family acted strange about Maura's disappearance right from the start. They MUST know something they are not telling everyone. I don't know what it is, but if they knew everything that we know, then they would be going after this guy. At the very least I would be thinking about Bretton Woods. It is only an hour away in the same direction Maura was last seen headed. But, as I said, the family definitely knows something KEY that is not on this blog and is not in any of the articles we have read. I think they have known whatever this is right from the start, which is why they did not want to talk to the police about Maura too much. Otherwise, their actions make no sense at all. If someone you loved went missing the way Maura did, you would be practically puking out all the stuff you knew about them. Fred Murray seems like a very intelligent man. He of all people would understand that finding a missing person generally does not mean walking around the area until you bump into them. It's about tracking them down. Yet, he was hesitant to talk about Maura's personal life. I think that is SO odd. I don't know though. Denial can be a powerful thing. Maybe at first they were all thinking that they could find her without people finding out who she "really" was.

    1. funny i was thinking the same thing. Everyone says they know her so well. Even your closest friend might not know you as well as you think they do. I get this feeling this girl was under so much pressure, feeling weak, and someone on that road took advantage of her weakness. Or, on the other hand, she did commit suicide.

  13. Could it be that the FBI hasn't gotten seriously involved because so far there has only been speculation, and not real indication, that this case is of criminal nature, with foul play involved? The fact of the matter is that Maura could still be alive. She could have walked away (although I think this to be highly unlikely).

And I too find Fred's reaction perfectly plausible. He said what I was thinking - this creep is clearly disturbed in the head, and it's revolting that he'd taunt the police and the family in this time of grief in this horrible, gruesome way. I expect they will be following up on that lead, however unlikely. But they can't afford to give it too much importance. Imagine just how many times they've done that and found themselves disillusioned.

  14. How about the possibility that the guy has already been investigated, and it has been determined that he is a nut job seeking attention. A poster on the previous update mentioned this.

As far as the FBI, they can't do anything unless the State Police invite them to participate in teh investigation. The Federal Government can't jsut jump in on an investigation as oddly as it sounds. Our laws don't allow that.

    2. Wow, thank you for posting this. It stirs a note of compassion for him, although my anger at those videos still swells. I find that this is similar to other things I have heard he wrote, except that it is written better in terms of traditional English style. It clearly suggests someone struggling with the socioeconomic pitfalls of marginal mental illness. It is kind of ironic when you think that perhaps so too was Maura and that both at some points in their lives have crouched in fears about themselves, trying to deal with those problems, right there in Massachusetts. I am betting that he does not have a car and so the odds of him having followed Maura out of Amherst on 2/9/04 are low. Again, and in any case, I think if the police had even a feeling that he was involved, they would have arrested him yesterday for hindering an investigation, because that would give them more of a chance to interrogate him and see what they could learn about Maura. That they passed over that opportunity and that the Murrays have made an unequivocal statement that he is just a sicko posting videos who should be ignored indicate to me that he was not involved.

  17. My thoughts go to the family that they may someday find closure.
I would think the person(s) responsible for her disapearance probably reads this blog. I doubt authorities have discounted the leads in the video. I think it odd that someone who would have reason to know the anniversary was near would ALSO have a ski ticket from 2 days after she went missing, and would have saved it for 8 years. And I doubt that even the most evil of people would actually record a such a video, then post it, then promptly remove it, if they didnt have some kind of personal stake in this girl's situation. DO THE RIGHT THING, TELL THE FAMILY WHERE TO FIND THEIR LITTLE GIRL!

  18. Fred is a walking contradiction and his statement makes zero sense.

First he says "the family respectfully requests the public to ignore and disregard this hideous information”. Ok except for he himself has made it perfectly clear though his dealing with Mr Renner and statements to the media he does not want the public investigating and writing about this case.

And if he really thinks this is a hoax then why not let the public waste all the time in the world investigating this rather than continuing to ask questions about his relationship with Maura and personal aspects of her life prior to her disappearance.

  19. This man writes about helping people put items in their car trunk at Walmart. Please be careful. I don't care that he's an employee. If you need some help putting something in your car, tell the employee to watch the item at the curb and pull up your car to the front of the store. If they are not allowed to watch your cart (not sure of store policy) make sure you park as close to the store as possible when you first arrive. Many Walmart parking lots are not well lit (at least in my area). You just never know about some people and it's better safe than sorry.

  21. The thing is guys, some serial killers love attention and knowing they can get away with this stuff. Its very likely that its a hoax, but they have to put into some possiblity that this is someone who thought it would be funny to shove this in our faces "haha i killed her and you guys can't even do anything about it" And someone made a good point, why would someone keep a ticket from 8 years ago in the same area that she was missing in? That just sounds wrong.

  24. I have to think that Beagle has tried to post here. With his propensity for strange connections, I would think that not many of his posts have been approved. For a man so obsessed for so man years with dominating Internet forums about Maura Murray with this insane speculations, this perhaps was difficult to endure. Perhaps he is getting just what he wants from James and legitimate participants in this forum: he is dominating it and derailing it just as he has Topix forums. I wonder if, James, you might just drop the topic of Beagle and these insane and sad and cruel videos until such time - if ever - that some piece of evidence suggests that they are more than the rants of a disturbed person who has a bizarre psychological need related to Maura. It seems like Beagle and his antics are a waste of time. If he is implicated in any way, the police have a reason to arrest him now even on a hunch because his behavior amounts to hindering an investigation. Thus unless something else should indicate that he is not completely irrelevant, maybe this forum should just move on? At this point it seems we are just feeding Beagle what he needs and encouraging him to continue with this bs. God help the man, so lost and sad he must be. ~ John Green

    1. I have no pity. Posting a video of himself laughing at a girl who probably met a violent and sad end on the anniversary of her disappearance is reprehensible. I figure if he wants to dress up and play serial killer, let the cops haul him in for obstruction of justice and while they're waiting for the results of the psych eval, sweat for him a couple of days about every unsolved murder of young women in Western MA and NH. That oughta put a stop to his morbid BS.

I do believe that in this videos we see the murderer looking directly at our eyes and enjoying the biggest success he achieved in his life.He trusts himself so much, he was pretty sure that he is going to be investigated and get away with that. He enjoys his success now beating the investigators with his great IQ . He is going to post new things when he realizes that the case is not popular anymore. He is 100% one of this anonymous writers and i am pretty sure he reads every posts here.
