Age Progression: A crowd-sourcing request.

I'm about to print out several hundred flyers for distribution in a mid-sized town. It would be great if I could include an age-progression picture of what Maura might look like today.

Does anyone have the computer skills to give it a try?

Send your best to me at jameswrenner@gmail.com

  1. James,
Don't you think announcing these requests publicly will cause Maura to flee from wherever she is (or take measures of damage control that could otherwise thwart the search)?

I also think that any deliberate attempts to disguise herself could have impacted Maura's appearance much more than 10 years of aging.

That said, wish I could help you. If nothing else comes through, there seem to be a bunch of online resources for age progression: http://www.mastersingerontology.com/top-25-incredible-age-progression-tools-online.html

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

  2. My photoshop skills are too bad for this. But if you have a high res image of Maura i think that would help anyone trying to do this James.

  3. Why can't you just leave her alone? This is becoming mean spirited. She has a right to disappear and not be messed with. I don't know exactly your reasoning but this looks as if you are just trying to make a name for yourself at her expense. Shameful.

    1. James has offered to leave her alone (see his previous post). All he asks for in return was anonymous proof that she is alive and well - very fair deal.

Until/unless Maura responds you shouldn't expect James (or the sleuthing community) to stop searching and asking questions. Yes, she could be alive and well, but she could just as easily be tied up in someone's basement like Ariel Castro's victims. She could also be dead in which case her murderer should ideally be brought to justice.

    2. Louis you can't just stop searching for answers because you think someone wants to be left alone.. What James has done and is doing is the exact opposite of mean spirited.. He is doing something that law enforcement could not and that is solve a huge mystery where someone's well being could be at risk.

  4. If I were Maura and he knew I was alive and well, I wouldn't view his "deal" as fair. He's a random person messing with her life.

If she is in trouble that would be different.

I hope that if she is alive and well she can remain that way secretly if she so chooses without interference from this man's ego.

    1. Amen. Maura is an adult woman. She owes this man absolutely nothing 'in return' and his 'deals' seem more like bullying and threats than anything positive.

If she's alive not wanting to be found and he does find/expose her I hope she comes after him with whatever type civil suit she can make stick.

Personally I vote for stalking as that's what this whole site feels like. A sick stalker doing his work in the daylight.

Continuing to search for a missing person is lovely but the owner of this site disgusts me with his 'deals', threats and thinking she owes him (or anyone else) an answer. Unless charges are filed against her she's perfectly free to live her life wherever she'd like. Free from threats of exposure by an internet hack.

    2. Exactly what I was trying to say. The anonymous quote up there is mine as well (Louis), don't know why it didn't register. To emphasize it further, she owes him nothing. I don't know why he thinks she does. Must be delusions of grandeur.

  5. After the Cleveland case, I cannot see how any decent person would not want a vigorous investigation with a case like this. Oh right, looking for this woman is "mean-spirited." We're all just so mean because we want a missing woman found. Everyone: if I ever disappear, for the love of God, please put up age-progression photos of me in every city in the world. Maybe I am locked in some guys house somewhere, and maybe, just maybe, the UPS guy saw me one day through a crack in the door. And maybe those flyers will be what sets me free.

    1. You are totally missing my point, as have the previous posters.

    2. Okay, then explain your point to us one more time. You claim that putting up age progression posters is "mean-spirited." I do not get it; how is that mean-spirited? It SHOULD be standard in a missing person's case.

Obviously you know something that we don't, namely, that Maura is alive and well and that law enforcement is aware of this fact and is no longer expending resources looking for her. If that is true, then please provide proof of this.

    3. Louis then maybe you can explain it again if we all didn't understand you. Thanks cause we do want to know what you really feel.

    4. I think the point is that Louis believes James Renner is trying to intimidate her into revealing herself, if she is alive, for selfish reasons or for his own gain. That it is mean-spirited for him to try to 'out' her with age-progression pictures. Gonna have to disagree with you on this, Louis.

If she is alive and disappeared willingly, an anonymous "proof of life" crumb (as described in another post) could be enough to free up any existing law enforcement resources to look for someone who is actually missing, could give her father and her family closure, and could satisfy the countless people in her community who have looked for her as well as the internet strangers (Mr Renner and we commenters among them) who have followed the case and who have come to care about Maura's fate.

If she is alive (or even if she is not!) and did NOT disappear willingly, what is the harm of keeping the case alive?

You sound as if you are 100% certain she is alive and wants to be left alone. Do you know something that we do not?

  6. I do not see how this is in any way mean spirited. This is what law enforcement should have done long ago!

  7. I agree Tracey- James has poured tons of his own resources to help find and answer and it seems that someone is afraid of the truth.Interesting that a post came from Hanson Mass suggesting bad will o James part- OMG She is Missing and NH LE is so limited . James offers a source for people to come forward and for people to help. I hope it stays real and is not sensationalized.

  8. I think that it is a very fair deal. If Maura is, in fact, alive and well it would have been incredibly selfish for her to stand back and watch (safely) while members of her family and community poured money and time into the search for her. Therefore, I think James has every right to press for details ...for the sake of both Maura's safety and the peace of mind of community members who spent months searching for her.
