Homeless Woman Found in Georgia...

It's a long shot but worth a look.

A young homeless woman was found living in a tent in Georgia, off I-75, recently. Follow this link for the full story and more pictures.

What do you think?

  1. I hope this is Maura, an answer to many prayers. Is it possible Maura was showing signs of having a disease, possibly MS for instance? That would explain why she didn't drive much. The fear first felt when you begin to stumble or your hand goes numb can cause someone to react very irrationally . I apologize if this has already been discussed and I missed it. To me, this make so many things she did click, and fall into place.

  2. Anyone else think she really looks like Maura? (but older of course, as expected). It's really bothering me!! Is it just me?

    1. However unlikely that it is her, I agree with Renner that it is worth looking at and I agree with you that there is a resemblance. In any case, what an interesting story.

  3. Well, she has a chin and a couple of cheeks and so does/did Maura, but the little that is visible below that blue cap does not look like Maura too me.

  4. My hopes were up for a minute but after looking more closely at the other pics, I sadly don't think it is her.

  5. the side profile looks a little like her but the front really doesn't. still, it wouldn't be surprising, That woman from PA that went missing and was found years later looking kind of beat up was in florida.

    1. I am from Lanaster, PA. You are talking about Brenda Heist. It's funny. Her ex husband lived under a cloud of suspicion for years because so many people said she wouldn't leave her kid and must have been murdered.

    1. It says a NG doing an AP mission in GA found her and the lady said she has a 1 year old child back home in Fl and that she is from Fla but he did not understand the city.

    2. That's what I thought Mrs Forman but JR headline reads "Homeless Woman Found in Florida..." so that is what I was confused about.

  7. JR- Ask this person to take and publish more pictures without the hat and bulky clothes. Very strange that I wasn't able to find any other articles on this.

  8. Why hasn't John Green chimed in and criticized Renner yet? :)

    1. Now he's chimed in to just be in support of Remner instead. And he didn't write an entire 500 word comment?

    1. Here sister Julie spoke in the Chronicle show (she was the one on Skype, right?). I don't remember if she had that accent, but there's a strong chance Maura talks/talked similarly to Julie.

  10. Strange that Claude Moulton, who lived in the infamous A-frame house in 2004, had a brother named Corey who died of a massive brain injury following a single motor vehicle accident in Newbury, Vermont in August 1980. The cause of the accident: "ethanol intoxification." His body was creamted. He was 20 years old.

    1. Certainly tragic that this man's brother died in a single car drunk driving accident some 24 years before Maura Murray got into a single car accident near his home, but I wouldn't call it strange. Unintentional injury is the leading cause of death for 20-somethings and unfortunately drunk driving (which is included in that category) is right up there as one of the top causes.

    2. Do you think it is tragic that after dismissing the theory that a "local dirtbag" killed Maura Murray and embracing the notion that Maura fled to Canada, James Renner is now asking his readers to consider whether or not a homeless woman in Georgia may be the missing Maura Murray?

      Delete
    3. I think James is looking at any and all avenues. You're looking for any excuse to criticize. Grow up.

      Delete
    4. I can see Aaron's point, although I'm not looking for any excuse to criticize. Looking at any and all avenues is a good thing. So is tying up loose ends, especially when one very clearly gives their readers the impression that they are onto something.

  11. Could she be Kyla Porter, missing since 2008?

  12. I find this story strange because so much was left out. If she has a name, why are they searching for people who know her? Was she found living on the streets in GA or was she wandering around/confused? Also, MM would be close to 32 by now she the age is off and if she has a daughter living back home with her mother then why can't so why can't they reach the mother? Couldn't they just fingerprint this women to get a correct I'd on her?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I could be way off, but my initial guess would be that this is Kyla. I had the very first link open and LibraryBlogger's open and flipped back and forth. The middle pic from Library Blogger's link really provides a great outline of her face and when I look at the women in the link at the top, they sure do look similar....anyway, my two cents

    ReplyDelete
  14. look at the nose, cheekbones and chin. Compare them and see who she looks more like. Zoom in if you have to. Even if it is not either of them, she looks less like Kyla.

  15. Bakerized again, looks more like my cousin than MM

  16. James, are you going to post any of the Tim Carpenter interview?

    ReplyDelete
  17. James, I'd be interested to know what YOU think. Do you think this could be Maura? Does this have anything to do with your assertion that you are certain where she is/who she is with and that the case will be solved soon? If you could start answering more questions, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  20. I have been completely puzzled by this post on the blog. It seems to be the most disjoint and aimless batch of information anywhere, with little connection to the case at hand

    1. Bingo, first off it looks nothing like her, it is out of left field and shows we are no closer to finding MM than 10 years ago.

Next post is she was abducted by aliens.

    2. Couldn't agree more. I think JR did believe he was close to answears as he claimed on this blog not so long ago, but obviously that was a dead end assuming from the way this blog has been developing. There is nothing wrong with producing theories that don't work out (it seems good to produce any theories at all....), however I would appreciate James addressing his previous claims that he is close to the resolution. Because right now I'm not sure what the purpose of this blog is, I used to treat it as the main source for extra facts surrounding MM case, now - not really sure what it's all about.

    3. 100% agree, also. Very discrediting post.

  21. Someone please wake up James Renner!

The woman Claude Moulton married in 1978 is named Tina Marie Caccavaro. Her mother, Jean Ellen Caccavaro, went missing in 1977 in the Monroe, NH and Newbury, VT area. Check out this creepy newspaper article with her photo!

Don't believe Jean Ellen Caccavaro was ever found. Chatter on this Cold Case board as late as 2009!

    1. Sounds like a very sad and weird family situation but if there is even a hint of foul play I missed it.

If anything she sounds a lot like Maura - losing all that weight, being overwhelmed with responsibilities, becoming distraught, and one day just walking away. Her husband even sounds eerily like Fred in downplaying her problems.

Odd how similar her state of mind sounds to Maura's, but not seeing how Moulton ties into it.

  22. According to this 1978 newspaper article, Jean Ellen Chase Caccavaro passed through Woodsville, NH a day or two before she disappeared. A man supposedly gave her a ride to the intersection of Route 112 and Route 116, because she wanted to hitchhike to Maine. Yeah, right!!!

  23. I find this intriguing but I don't see how it fits all together. Are you saying she had a run inwith/was killed by Moulton and the guy who "gave her a ride" is lying (maybe that guy was Moulton since he is never named)? And then Moulton married her daughter? Did they know each other already? Was it a drug thing?

Can you spell out the theory a bit more?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I believe Moulton would have only been 15 or 16 at the time so I agree that I am skeptical he was involved.

None the less this is still very interesting. Thank you for posting Aaron! I mean for two women to go missing/last scene on a 3-4 mile or so stretch of road in a very, very rural part of NH. Strange to say the least. Even with the 26 year gap.

    2. Claude's brother Larry would have been about 24 years old in 1977. Rumor has it he did time in New Hampshire state prison. If true, what were the charges, and when was he released? Could explain part of gap between 1977 and 2004. Maybe Larry killed both women, but lied to Fred Murray, blaming his brother Claude instead?

      Delete
    3. Would be interesting to find Larry's prison records for the timeline and the charges. Any photos of any of these Moultons online anywhere? (trying to get a sense of what type of people we're dealing with)

      Delete
    4. You can do my simple google search, the name of the prison with offender query behind it. You can click past/present inmates a s well as currently incarcerated. There are many ways to search including name/crime/state it was committed in/ inmate number/ etc. problem is knowing if this is the correct person or not- a photo will be shown but someone who knows or has seen this person would need to do the search to verify it's the correct person!

  24. Claude Moulton is a link between disappearance of Jean Caccavaro in 1977 and Maura Murray in 2004.

Claude probably knew Jean Caccavaro. He lived in the same area and married her daughter Tina in 1978.

According to Fred Murray, Lawrence Moulton told Fred his brother Claude Moulton killed Maura Murray at the A-frame house in 2004.

Jean Caccavaro was supposedly dropped of at Route 112 & 116 in 1977. That's 5 miles from where Maura Murray disappeared in 2004.

Even if Claude wasn't involved in either disappearance, he is a link between the two! Maybe his dead brother Corey was invovled in 1977 case and dead brother Larry was invovled in 2004 case. Maybe not. But one thing is for sure: Claude Moulton's name comes up in both cases!

    ReplyDelete
  25. His name comes up but if that doesn't lead to some solid theories then it starts to look more like a coincidence. Keep digging and see what you can come up with.

Question about the location of Caccavaro's drop-off: 1st article says 12&116, 2nd says 112&116. Since 12&116 don't intersect I assume it is the latter. But where is "Eastern Township, NH"? I've googled it like crazy and can't find anything. It it a former CDP in that 112/116 intersection area that's not used anymore?

One thing is for sure the intersection of 112&116 is a strange place to drop someone off. It's like she was stranded in almost the same spot and in the same state of mind as Maura was - and just as vulnerable.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The article you posted from the newspaper said that she was seen at another street bazaar after the Cracker Barrel fair she disappeared from. Then she hitchhiked, stayed over night in the strangers cabin and in the morning he gave her a ride when she asked to go to Maine. If she did meet up with foul play, it did not happen anywhere near her home or presumably near the young Moulton fellow.

    2. chefsgirl, I am also quite skeptical that there's any connection, but the article does state quit clearly that she asked the man for a ride to Maine but he dropped her off at the intersection of 12(sic)&116 near "Eastern Township, N.H."

Now I admit I don't know where the heck "Eastern Township, NH" is (if you Google it in quotes the ONLY sources that come up are references to this article and others about this case, but 112&116 definitely intersect just a few miles east of where Maura was last seen.

    3. I think the newspaper meant Easton, NH, which is a bit further east on Route 116.

  28. If I recall correctly, a few months after Maura Murray crashed her car in 2004, Rick Forcier remembered seeing a person in a hoodie on Route 112, four to five miles east of the crash site, a bit later in the evening on the night in question. He wondered if this person could have been Maura Murray. If all this is so, that would place Maura Murray at intersection of Route 112 & 116, the same spot where Jean Caccavaro was suypposedly dropped off in 1977.

Here's a scenario for Maura Murray case: She gets off I-91 and fills up her gas tank on Route 112. She notices her car is smoking and, having had a few drinks, stuffs the rag up the tail pipe so the police won't pull her over. She crashes her car. She exchanges words with Butch Atwood and when he goes to his house to call the police, Maura decides to take off. She walks east on Route 112 and after about 100 yards she starts running (that's why search dogs lost her scent). She gets about 4 to 5 miles east when Rick Forcier passes her in his truck. Forcier continues home and Maura vanishes at the intersection of Route 112 & 116. Wonder who lives at that intersection?

    ReplyDelete
  29. @aaron Swartz...that is a satisfactory explanation for the rag in the tail pipe. I have wondered about it's origins.
