Toning Down the Rhetoric

I'm toning down the rhetoric on the blog and will police the comments more in the coming days until it gets back on track. I don't like the tone it was heading toward. I've also reverted a few posts so that the focus remains on what we do know (the new sighting, etc) rather than what we don't.

Libelous, threatening, or just plain mean comments will be removed.

Let's focus on new facts in 2015.

  2. Mr. Incognito,
Everyone here wants to know the truth. That's why we read this blog and throw ideas and theories around. But it's your disrespectful, sophmoric, obnoxious attitude that annoys us. It's a shame you can't be courteous and actually add something to the discussions. If you truly have crucial information, I for one would love to hear it. Peace

  7. From now on, I am with you Flower Will. Renner took down my map. Wahhhhhhhh .... he censors truth! I love truth. Just like you do. You were right all along.

S___! You don't think he will throw me under the bus now, do you?????

  9. It's a shame that the last couple of posts got taken down because a) the posts themselves posed important questions and b) there were many, many well-thought-out, insightful comments and theories about the case. I'm all for toning down the rhetoric but wish the "removals" were limited to disruptive comments. I feel like we just took several steps backward because the last two posts (esp. "what if it's all a lie" posed some very important questions).

    1. Hi Micah. She has an older brother, Fred Jr., two older sisters, Julie (who was also a runner and was at west point) and Kathleen, and a younger half-brother on her mother's side, Kurt.

    2. Thank you! John. Thats what I thought... I heard/seen that Maura's friend ( i think Sara) told Fred the real story. Does she (Sara) mean the reason Maura came to NH?. Whatever the case is, believe that we should look at why Fred is keeping this a secret from everyone?.

    3. If I follow Renner's posts clearly, it was either Sara or Kate or both who, according to Helena, told the real story once to Fred and then refused to talk about to anyone else, including - possibly - the authorities. So yes, I agree with you, particularly given the multiple other oddities and apparent deceptions from Fred in the immediate aftermath of the Saturn accident and since.

  12. Gonna have to stop looking at the comments for awhile. That's until flower child and incognito are removed. Over reading their crap. Renner you might as well block them from the blog, there's no point just deleting their comments and leaving them on.

    1. You deluded fool. You think that just because I follow Renner's blog I agree 100% with what he believes happened. Well I dont. I follow and read up on the disappearance of MM from every source I can get my hands on, including the Facebook page run by Helena. I tend to keep an open mind and get all the information I can and come to my own conclusions...I do not have someone make those conclusions for me.

Will would like to hear how Renner pissed you off. Send us an email.

      Have a good in'

  14. Deep thoughts by rc00pr -

Was there a link to a news report on two bodies (one a girl that died in her 20s) found just a couple hours away from the crash site? Could someone repost that link, it could be important to keep up on that.

If MM's friends told FM the 'real story', whatever that could be, I don't know that it would keep their silence for a decade if it implicated FM. from my perspective, someone's conscience would have gotten to them and they would have talked by now. So the silence may indicate that it was just embarrassing to MM and may pertain to her well documented spiral downward and bad behavior. *pure speculation follows*-- perhaps a relationship with a professor, abortion that was haunting her, hitting someone with her car* ahem JG:), getting involved with her sister in drug dealings (wasn't she involved with drugs?).

    1. It doesn't seem logical to me, either. No college age kid will hold onto secrets this important for this long without a very good reason, and I think that reason is fear, not bad behavior or protecting a friend's reputation. They are scared into silence, and it's something big, life-changing for both for Kate and Sara and for Maura. Now we just need to know the source of their fear.

  15. Hope I can make this comment and it won't be removed.

I have been interesting in the Maura Murray case for a long time and finding this blog was so interesting because someone had done the investigating that I could never do and was willing to share it in an 'open' format. Kudos to James Renner for doing that and creating a blog for people to share opinions and perhaps even help suss out some good leads/thought lines or shut bad ones down.

I did feel that Renner kind of abandoned the blog recently and that made me think that was a reflection on his view of the posters here. I hope that he does appreciate the average citizen that has contributed to the positive discourse on this blog. Most are here with good intentions. Like it or not the future will be more citizen based investigations/journalism. Crowdsourced endeavors will become the norm and I hope James realizes that and can appreciate this even if people run hot or sound like they've been off their meds from time to time. Please extend some credit to us.

John Green has been a positive to this case/blog and has committed his own time and resources helping investigate, so he should be credited for that.

    Thank you John.

I have always appreciated his posts even if they don't track with my own thoughts. That is the beauty of this format, open exchange of ideas.

Let's be honest here. If Incognito and Flower were gone would this blog not be much more enjoyable. We're here because people love a good mystery and want to help solve it, not be forced to read p!$$ing and moaning. Whether this person has justification fro being this angry, I don't know, but I do know they've blown credibility by being so toxic. If there is a good reason no one wants to hear it by now.

    Just my two centavos

    2. Ladies and Gents, do your research in this very blog. Go back and read some if the older updates. You'll notice that this is indeed Wolfman, a person of interest in the case. James exposed him before when he was posting the exact same rhetoric. The guy is obsessive.

John Green is ok until you challenge him or he doesn't get his way. James let him take the reigns here, and he self destructed; literally lashing out verbally when his theories were challenged. All of the colloquial writing went to the dump and he turned total diva.

Don't take my word for it; research it yourself.

    3. Hello, rcOOpr

      My thoughts exactly.

I for one am glad that James has this blog and wish him the best for efforts. I hope his book is successful and ultimately we find out what happened to Maura. You may not agree with this tactics, but you know what, we are all here reading it and thinking about it aren't we. Rather that then just letting the case die out.
Your right of course about the crowdsourcing. Breaks in cases have always come from ordinary people telling what they know. It is just a puzzle that needs to be put together. We have to be realistic though. How many people are really putting boots on the ground looking for Maura at this point? This is a cold case in LE eyes. Nothing against LE, but there is only 24 hours in a day and this is not their only case. I am sure they are adding to the file when things pop up. I am hoping that James book opens up some of those leads that are desperately needed at this point. Shedding a little light back on the case is a good thing.

I can't help but think that how much further this case would be if everyone had a cohesive effort into analyzing the known facts.

    4. John Flower ... I was never mean to anyone. I just called people out, like you, who tried to obscure logic and open discussion. I realize that this open discussion process has made you look bad on a number of occasions, but your grudge bearing is like drinking a poison and expecting it to hurt the person you are mad at. That might explain some of the issues you are having.

    5. Rcoor, thanks for the kind words. I likewise feel that your contributions are very positive and intelligent. It does not matter whether I or anyone agree with this one or that one, you add to the discourse. The discourse is a positive process. John Flower has his own reasons for wanting to deflect that discourse.

But still, I think John Flower's posts should not be deleted unless they bear a threat or a slander. Because he has been around, following this case, longer than anyone I know of ... and he might accidentally, while trying to suppress that healthy discourse say something relevant.

      ~ John Green

    6. Max, that is a ridiculous comment. We've had some good discourse lately. Not sure why you would throw that out there. Some trolls got very defensive when I called them out for the flaws in their logic. I don't know why you would throw out such an aspersion. Also, read my reactions to some of the comments against my postings. They are polite, but when people go at me in personal terms, I call them out. I was nothing but polite to people who disagreed with me. Don't make inflammatory comments then blame me for making inflammatory comments.

  17. I run the North American Missing Persons Network nampn.org and as a result I have dealt with many different scenarios in regards to missing persons cases. Maura's has to be one of the most baffling I have ever encountered. I want to thank James for his relentless pursuit to get to the bottom of it and hope the trolls will be permanently banned so we can focus on finding Maura instead of their ridiculous posts.
