Merry Christmas to the frequent readers and commenters of this little blog.

And a Happy New Year - I believe in 2016 that we will finally see closure to this case, one way or another.

  10. Merry Christmas to you and yours, James. Considering how much attention you've brought to the case in 2015 I wouldn't be surprised if your 2016 prediction came true.

  14. Am I the only one who thinks that Maura Murray is the spitting image of Kate Middleton??

    1. They have dimples and similar coloring. I don't see any other similarities.

  15. Hi from Australia. I'm new to Maura's story, but have a question. Is there security footage of Maura at her University job? Since there's no proof of a phone call causing her distress, is it possible someone approached her in person? And their interaction resulted in Maura's distress?

    1. IMO- its possible someone had walked through the front door and told Maura something upsetting. I don't recall it being said If there was video footage from that night.
Maura and Billy spoke on the phone that night from 12:07-12:14. Maura had the breakdown 40 minutes later.

    4. Anon 12.30.15 Check out JR's blog dated 6.28.11 The Phone Call (Interview w/ Karen Mayotte) that blows away the phone call timeline they've been working with. Its possible Karen could be a little off, maybe, but NOT 3hrs OFF (10:30pm to the breakdown 40 mins AFTER the 12:14 call ended) she said she checked on M around 10:30pm found her catatonic -so HOW did she have the breakdown 40mins AFTER the call w/ BR? and she said "MY SISTER" @ 10:30 ish well before the documented 11:07 phone call w/Kathleen. Just doesnt jive.

  18. Did the police inventory what was in Maura's car before giving it to the family? If so, was there a difference between them?

  20. James, in 2008 1 bone was found near the Pilgrim Nuclear Plant in Plymouth, Ma. The bone was sticking out of rocks on the beach. It says only 1 bone was found. It say female between 20-99. No known race, eye color, etc. It says possible death in 08 but with only 1 bone found that could vary.
Has the DNA been compared to Maura's DNA?

    1. Interesting. The sad fact is many remains sit in closed drawers unclaimed for YEARS in cases literally only a few thousand yards away from where a crime was committed. Agencies really need to communicate better and regularly to get these cases resolved. It's beyond ridiculous, really.

    2. NamUs says DNA Status: Sample submitted - Tests complete, so it was automatically tested against entries in CODIS.

NamUs has an entry of a "human femur found during the demolition of an old barn" in southern New Hampshire August 2015. That status says "Sample available - Not yet submitted". So that one is likely in the lab queue.

  22. From what I remember hearing, all they did was "dump her bag on the back seat and take photos of it."

  23. @sourgirl they did that yes, but then they took it in as evidence, gave it to her boyfriend, then asked for it back, it just stinks of incompetence.
